Power that’s healthy, affordable, and good for Binghamton
What is Binghamton Community Power?
Binghamton Community Power (BCP) is a program hosted by Network for a Sustainable Tomorrow (NeST) and funded through a Community Impact Grant from the Department of Environmental Conservation Office of Environmental Justice. BCP is working to lower energy costs and make clean energy initiatives accessible to historically underserved communities across the City of Binghamton. This is done by:
Lowering Energy Bills – BCP connects community members to professionals specializing in insulation, air sealing and other energy saving strategies, helping you to save on energy year-round.
Lowering Clean Energy Improvement Costs – BCP works with programs that lower the cost of installing eco-friendly, energy efficient electric heating and cooling systems.
Increasing Home Comfort – BCP provides educational resources to teach community members how to moderate temperatures in the home without the help of any professional services.
Increasing Funding for Home Repair and Contaminant Removal Programs – BCP works with community members to collect data on the condition of their homes through surveys. focus groups, and community events, using this data to advocate for increased public funding to lower the cost of repair and remediation projects in disadvantaged communities.
