Governor Kathy Hochul is doubling down on nuclear power—and communities across New York are saying enough is enough.
Despite nuclear power’s history of cost overruns, delays, radioactive waste, and taxpayer-funded bailouts, Governor Hochul has made new nuclear development a centerpiece of her energy agenda. At a time when New Yorkers need affordable, reliable climate solutions, the state is considering pouring billions into an industry that has repeatedly failed to deliver on its promises.
We believe New York deserves better.
That’s why organizations and community members from across the state are coming together for Communities Against Nuclear: Days of Action to Protest Hochul’s Dangerous Nuclear Buildout.
These days of statewide distributed actions will include rallies, press conferences, teach-ins, and demonstrations in:
Together, we will send a clear message: No new nuclear reactors. No blank checks for a failed industry.
Instead of investing public resources in expensive nuclear projects, New York should prioritize renewable energy, energy efficiency, grid modernization, and community-based climate solutions that can be deployed faster, more affordably, and without creating dangerous radioactive waste.
Governor Hochul needs to hear from New Yorkers before her administration locks the state into decades of costly nuclear commitments.
Join us and help demonstrate the growing statewide opposition to this dangerous and expensive agenda.
