Rate Payers United Southern Tier
Rate Payer United Southern Tier is a new crowd-funded initiative, led by NeST (Network for a Sustainable Tomorrow), bringing together New Yorkers to combat surging utility costs, particularly from NYSEG. This campaign seeks to give rate payers tools to save money now through DIY solutions and state programs while addressing broken regulatory systems, advocate for transparent rate-making, and challenge unfair rate proposals that burden households. It encourages ratepayers to “think bigger” than individual billing complaints by organizing to secure fair pricing and, if necessary, intervening in the Public Service Commission rate-setting processes. The campaign depends on support from rate-payers like new to expand.
